About This:
Grey Area is the debut album from New Zealand underground rock act Hangar 18. The songs were written on a Kiwi fruit farm in middle earth and the title track H18 became the first single and hit from the album. The band had a strong link to Asia and there first success came outside of New Zealand in Hong Kong where they frequently toured and performed.
During their time together they released and toured Grey Area throughout 5 countries. The pinnacle of success was performing in Hong Kong at The Unity handover festival to a live audience of 16,000 people whilst being beamed via satellite TV to over 1 billion people worldwide. The music event was held the day the British handed their long rule of Hong Kong back to the Chinese, thus attracting a worldwide audience to Hangar 18’s Music. Hangar 18 have toured supported and performed with some of the biggest names in rock, No Doubt (US), Collective Soul (US), Ocean Colour Scene (UK), Silverchair (AUS) plus many more.
