About This:
In the autumn of 2006 a modest gathering of good old friends. Carefully they started rehearsing along the Maas river. It’s a twilight there, calm waves between a red sunset and a beautiful purple-lighted swan. They played together in Hyphen, a psychedelic postrock band from the nineties, experienced in strange carpet rides and were up for new brew. Mike Bindraban plays on red and dark blue keys, Nikos Paisopoulos plays his bass loosy goosy and Patrick Verdonk plays various guitars. Together the TMC sound was born, joined by Esther Vroegindeweij on violins, Martijn Groen on drums and vocalist Daisy Cools.
TMC plays self-composed timeless compositions. Live they have been joined by guests from the UK (MC Xander, Eska Mtungwazi), USA (Baba Israel and friends, Shariff Simmons), Australia (Morganics), France (Erik Truffaz) and Japan (Toshinori Kondo).
In november of 2009 the band released their debut album 'MOZAIC' featuring amongst others soprano saxophone player Ghasem Batamuntu (USA). With MOZAIC, the band portrays a unique cinematic crossover of lounge-noir, fusion, jazz and pop. Is it a musical puzzle? A black and white film perhaps? It's creating a sketch with music. No tight structures, but elastic fragility. Listening makes the fantasy discover subtle improvisation. The choice is yours.
