+ "s%20with%20other%20companies%20as%20his%20repertoire%20flourished%20and%20more%20and%20more%20of"

+ "0to%20create%20stage%20musicals%20as%20a%20vehicle%20for%20their%20songs%2C%20rather%20than%20th"
+ "e%20more%20difficult%20route%20of%20trying%20for%20covers%20by%20the%20big%20artists%20of%20the%"
+ "20day.%20As%20time%20went%20by%2C%20Eric%20realized%20how%20well%20founded%20their%20idea%20was."
+ "%3C%2Fp%3E%0D%0A%09%09%09%09%20%20%09%09%3Cp%3EOn%20his%20way%20south%2C%20Eric%20got%20involved"
+ "%20with%20music%20business%20agency%2C%20Kennedy%20Street%20Enterprises.%20He%20joined%20one%20o"
+ "f%20their%20acts%20HERMAN%27S%20HERMITS%20as%20a%20guest%20pianist%20for%20a%20short%20spell%2C%"
+ "20and%20had%20high%20hopes%20of%20becoming%20a%20permanent%20member%20of%20one%20their%20other%2"
+ "0groups%2C%20but%20they%20wouldn%27t%20guarantee%20him%20a%20retainer%20and%20so%20he%20decided%"
+ "20to%20carry%20on%20further%20south%20to%20London.%20The%20musicians%20Eric%20left%20behind%20in"
+ "%20Manchester%2C%20shortly%20afterwards%20became%20known%20as%2010CC.%3C%2Fp%3E%0D%0A%09%09%09%0"
+ "9%20%20%09%09%3Cp%3ELater%2C%20Eric%20was%20taken%20on%20as%20an%20independent%20record%20produc"
+ "er%20by%20several%20record%20companies%20working%20with%20artists%20including%20DAVE%20BERRY%2C%"
+ "20THE%20EQUALS%20and%20THE%20TREMELOES.%3C%2Fp%3E%0D%0A%09%09%09%09%20%20%09%09%3Cp%3EAround%20t"
+ "his%20time%2C%20Eric%20had%20the%20idea%20to%20make%20an%20album%20inspired%20by%20Edgar%20Allan"
+ "%20Poe.%20He%20wrote%20some%20of%20the%20material%20which%20later%20found%20its%20way%20into%20t"
+ "he%20Alan%20Parsons%20Project%20and%20at%20that%20time%20he%20recorded%20some%20demos%20with%20g"
+ "uitarist%20Rick%20Westwood%20of%20THE%20TREMELOES.%20Eric%20produced%20the%20recordings%20but%20"
+ "was%20not%20sure%20that%20he%20had%20the%20necessary%20skill%20to%20realize%20such%20a%20grandio"
+ "se%20project%20and%20shelved%20the%20idea.%3C%2Fp%3E%0D%0A%09%09%09%09%20%20%09%09%3Cp%3EDespite"
+ "%20having%20many%20of%20his%20songs%20recorded%20all%20over%20Europe%2C%20Eric%20found%20that%20"
+ "earning%20a%20living%20as%20a%20songwriter%20was%20not%20easy%20and%20so%20he%20decided%20to%20t"
+ "ry%20his%20hand%20at%20artist%20management.%3C%2Fp%3E%0D%0A%09%09%09%09%20%20%09%09%3Cp%3EHis%20"
+ "first%20two%20clients%20were%20a%20singer%20CARL%20DOUGLAS%20who%20had%20just%20reached%20the%20"
+ "top%20of%20the%20charts%20with%20KUNG%20FU%20FIGHTING%20and%20a%20record%20producer%20called%20A"
+ "LAN%20PARSONS%20who%20he%20had%20met%20while%20on%20a%20session%20at%20Abbey%20Road%20Studios.%3"
+ "C%2Fp%3E%0D%0A%09%09%09%09%20%20%09%09%3Cp%3EAlan%20had%20decided%20to%20become%20a%20producer%2"
+ "0and%20with%20Eric%20as%20his%20manager%2C%20he%20enjoyed%20a%20string%20of%20successes%20includ"
+ "ing%20consecutive%20number%20one%20hits%20with%20PILOT%20and%20COCKNEY%20REBEL.%20Other%20notabl"
+ "e%20successes%20were%20JOHN%20MILES%20and%20AL%20STEWART%20with%20YEAR%20OF%20THE%20CAT.%3C%2Fp%"
+ "3E%0D%0A%09%09%09%09%20%20%09%09%3Cp%3EAt%20that%20time%2C%20the%20film%20business%20had%20becom"
+ "e%20a%20director%27s%20medium%20with%20luminaries%20such%20as%20Stanley%20Kubrick%20being%20more"
+ "%20influential%20in%20the%20making%20of%20a%20film%20that%20the%20stars%20who%20appeared%20in%20"
+ "it.%20Now%20having%20access%20to%20Alan%27s%20production%20and%20engineering%20talent%2C%20Eric%"
+ "20saw%20an%20opportunity%20to%20mirror%20this%20in%20the%20record%20business%20by%20combining%20"
+ "his%20own%20writing%20talents%20with%20Alan%27s.%20His%20Edgar%20Allan%20Poe%20idea%20came%20off"
+ "%20the%20shelf%20and%20the%20ALAN%20PARSONS%20PROJECT%20was%20born.%3C%2Fp%3E%0D%0A%09%09%09%09%"
+ "09%09%3Cp%3EThe%20first%20album%20entitled%20TALES%20OF%20MYSTERY%20AND%20IMAGINATION%2C%20EDGAR"
+ "%20ALLAN%20POE%20was%20released%20in%201976.%20It%20was%20immediately%20obvious%20that%20there%2"
+ "0was%20more%20to%20the%20idea%20than%20one%20album%2C%20but%20as%20the%20original%20record%20dea"
+ "l%20was%20for%20only%20the%20first%20album%2C%20a%20new%20deal%20was%20done%20with%20Arista%20Re"

+ "spired%20by%20Sigmund%20Freud%2C%20was%20entitled%20FREUDIANA%20which%20was%20premiered%20in%201"
+ "990%20in%20Vienna%27s%20historic%20THEATER%20AN%20DER%20WIEN%20%3C%21--which%20was%20built%20by%"
+ "20the%20librettist%20of%20Mozart%27s%20Magic%20Flue%20and--%3Ewhere%20Beethoven%20premiered%20%2"
+ "7Fidelio%27%2C%20his%20one%20and%20only%20opera.%20Eric%20had%20always%20been%20inspired%20by%20"
+ "creative%20minds%20and%20his%20wife%20Hazel%20had%20been%20studying%20psychology%20and%20began%2"
+ "0to%20leave%20books%20on%20Freud%20lying%20around%20the%20house.%20Intrigued%20by%20the%20titles"
+ "%2C%20Woolfson%20became%20fascinated%20by%20their%20content%20and%20started%20researching%20Freu"
+ "d%20and%20spent%20a%20lot%20of%20time%20in%20the%20Freud%20Museum%20in%20London%2C%20even%20lyin"
+ "g%20on%20the%20couch%20on%20which%20Freud%27s%20patients%20recounted%20their%20dreams.%3C%2Fp%3E"
